Today at a family dinner, my niece sat down with a book of coloring games. She’s five and doesn’t know how to read yet, so I helped her by reading out loud and explaining the games.
In one game, she had to color the clothes that were fit to be worn by ‘John’, a fictional boy. She started coloring all clothes on the page, which included skirts and dresses and a headband.
Her mom told her she shouldn’t color *all* the clothes, just the ones *he* should wear. To which she replied that she wanted ‘John’ to wear whatever he wants, “even if it’s a frilly dress”.
This five year old girl is part of our next generation, and I am so proud of her.
